2019 Presidential Election: Why APC lost to PDP in Ondo state

– Sen. Ajayi Boroffice disclosed why the APC lost to PDP in Ondo State in the 2019 Presidential election

– He hinted that it was as a result of the division in the APC party structure in the state

According to a report, the ruling party, All Progressive Congress APC lost South Western state, Ondo, to the opposition party in the 2019 Presidential election over the weekend.

However, a Nigerian senator, Ajayi Boroffice in a statement has disclosed why the APC lost to the PDP in Ondo state.

Sen. Ajayi Boroffice, who is representative of Ondo North Senatorial district disclosed the defeat to PDP was as a result of the division in the APC party structure in the state.

The Sen. made this known today in Akure while speaking with the press on the outcome of the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly election in the state.

According to the report made available, the PDP led the APC in terms of number of votes in the south western state.

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP won 11 out of the 18 local governments in the state.

Sen Ajayi Borrofice in his statement said: ”APC lost Saturday election in Ondo State to PDP because APC has dysfunctional party structure in the state which is not effective.

“Then, we have a bipolar party which is one side AA and another is authentic APC.

Sen. Ajayi Boroffice went on to describe the scenario as the house divided against itself which really affected the All Progressive Congress APC in the election.

I have mixed feelings in sense that we lost to PDP and it is unfortunate,” he said

The senator, however, said that it was good he won the election likewise three members of House of Representatives in his district.
