50-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Raped By Suspected Armed Robbers In Benue State

The Benue state police command has paraded two armed robbery suspects identified respectively to be Terdue Tivkaa who 20-year-old and Tarvershima Fazanga, who is still a teenager, aged 19, for robbing and raping a 50-year-old woman at her home in the Zaki Biam axis of Benue state on January 20th.

Parading the suspects together with a lot of other criminals before sources and the media today, January 26th, the state commissioner for police identified to be CP Omololu Bishi, stated in  a report of an armed robbery incident was received at the State police command on January 20th that some armed robbers criminally trespassed into a compound at new city Zaki Biam.

In addition, the state commissioner for police, CP Omololu Bishi, also stated that they robbed their victims of some money and handsets and thereafter raped a 50yrs old woman in the process in order to enjoy themselves.

Drastic response by Police Operatives in Zaki Biam resulted in the arrest of two suspects who stated that one man identified to be Solomon is their gang leader.

It is also important to know that the gang leader who was the head of the armed robbery group, died while exchanging fire with the Police and security operatives in a bid to escape being apprehended.

From what CP Omololu Bishi said, it was discovered that a locally made pistol with one live ammunition, two cutlasses, one axe as well as two handsets were recovered from suspected armed robbers when the raid was completed.

The police have come out to make it clear that both Terdue Tivkaa and Tarvershima Fazanga who are the armed robbery suspects and also who had earlier confessed to the crime would soon be arraigned in court.

In addition to the parading of a group of armed robbery suspects, a female was also paraded amongst them all.
