8 Suspected Internet Fraudsters Nabbed By Operatives of EFCC In Ilorin

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal Office have apprehended eight suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys following a tip-off and surveillance carried out around Irewolede, Ilorin in Kwara State today, February 13th.

A statement read from the antigraft agency stated that the apprehended suspects who were rounded up at about 9.35pm on February 11, 2019 include, Chimezie Paul, 19; Oluwakayode Adebayo, 25; Mustapha Akeem, 19; Ezedigboo Paschal, 19; Mustapha Suleiman, 21; Mohammed Umar Faruk, 25; Abolarin Samuel Sunday, 23, and Anolarin Ridwan Gbolahan, 25.

iDONSABI also reports that the items recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters were laptop computers and mobile phones respectively.

Recall that some days back, there have also been reports of Yahoo Boys been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ibadan and also Illorin as well.

It is a good thing by a lot of people that the body that fights crimes in the country is very functional. That is because there have been a lot of crimes which can mostly be found in the government places and the streets as well.

This recent arrest follows a nationwide sting operation of operatives of the EFCC, which has witnessed most internet fraudsters across the country going into hiding.

The Eight suspected internet fraudsters, however, will soon be charged to court in due course once investigations have been concluded in order to discover more of their accomplices and recover more items in the possession of the suspected internet fraudsters.

The arrest and also the arrests of other suspected internet fraudsters in recent days should serve as a deterrent to those who may seek to engage in such activities as the EFCC are not relenting to apprehend more of their kind.
