AC Milan Boss, Marco Giampaolo Sacked Less Than Two Months After Appointment

AC Milan have relieved Marco Giampaolo of his duties as Rossoneri’s head boss less than two months after his appointment.

The Serie A giants has decided to part ways with the 52-year old even as the club languish in 13 position on the Serie A standings.

A statement was released on the Serie A giants official club website which read:

“AC Milan announces that it has relieved Marco Giampaolo of his role as coach of the first team.

“The club intends to thank Marco for the activity carried out so far and wishes him the best professional successes.”

Giampaolo succeeded Gennaro Gattuso at the San Siro after the latter parted ways with Milan after a year and half at the helm of affairs.

But Marco has lasted significantly less than Milan legend, Gattuso did.

Marco was brought to head the Rossoneris after three years in charge of Sampdoria. However the former Sampdoria boss couldn’t replicate the success he enjoyed there.

Milan are currently languishing in 13th position, only three points above the drop zone following three wins and four losses in their first seven league games.

His last game in charge was a 2-1 win over Genoa but that result was not enough to spare him the blush.

That was Milan’s first win in four games having lost three preceding three games.

The folks at San Siro lost to their bitter rivals, Inter Milan before losing to Torino and Fiorentina.

With the International break closing in, Milan have a grace of two weeks to search for the perfect replacement for Giampaolo.

Luciano Spalleti who was replaced at Inter by Antonio Conte has been touted as a possible replacement for the sacked coach.

Milan finished fifth last term but lost their Europa league place, thanks to a violation of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Rules.
