Achuba: We Resisted Inducement from Some Influential Forces – Panel Members
- Panel members say the rejected inducement from some forces loyal to Governor Yahaya Bello.
- Says their allowances were unpaid.
Indications have shown that members of the seven-man panel set-up to investigate Kogi Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba rejected inducement from some influential forces in the state.
The Nation reports that a source in the panel which cleared Deputy Governor Achuba of any wrongdoing said they came with all manners of inducement but they decided to remain conscientious.
He added that all their allowances were not paid due to their body language on the matter.

Recall that the House of Assembly had set up the Panel of Inquiry led by a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. John Baiyesha, who delivered the report to the house on Friday. A few minutes after delivering the report which exonerated Achuba, the house went ahead to report him. None of the members of the house is yet to explain why he was impeached.
“We stuck to the truth because the allegations against Achuba were not proven.
“All our allowances were not paid since we started the inquiry based on our body language that we will not compromise,” a member of the panel said.
Governor Yahaya Bello had chosen his running mate for the November 6 election to be sworn-in but indication show that they may meet resistance from the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanaare who is on the side of the law.

Most of the senior judges are trying to avoid suspension fro the National Judicial Council over the matter. It was gathered some forces are working round the clock to ensure Onoja is sworn-in.
