A Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere in a recent statement have told Pres. Muhammadu Buhari to declare his asset according to the law.

This recent statement comes amidst the allegations levelled against the suspended Chief Judge of Nigeria, CJN, Justic Walter Onnoghen over his failure to revealed his asset as expected of the Law.

According to the Afenifere via a statement released by the group leader, Chief Ruben Fasonranti, he declared that what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

He went on to tell Pres. Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill the promise he made in 2014 before the electorates.

According to Chief Fasoranti, Pres. Buhari back in 2014 had pledged to revealed his asset and also see to it that his appointees, ministers among others would also go by the process by revealing their asset too.

But the Afenifere leader noted that it is almost four months before Pres. Buhari four years comes to an and the promise is yet to be fulfilled.

The Pan-Yoruba group urged Pres. Buhari to lead by example by making his asset known to the member of the public.

Afenifere therefore asks the president to immediately make his assets declaration form public so Nigerians can hold him as a man of his words.

“Such a power of example sets greater tone for good conduct in society than a thousand arbitrariness in the name of fighting corruption. The true meaning of leadership is being able to lead by higher standards.”
