Ajax Receive 75Million Bid For De Ligt From Italian Club

According to emerging reports from Italy, Serie A giants, Juventus have made a bid for Ajax captain and centre back, Matthijs de Ligt in the neighbourhood of £75 million.

The Dutch is being monitored by both Manchester United and Barcelona but the Old Lady are seeking to get in there and sign the promising defender first.

The 19 year old is the most sought after player at the moment after a successful campaign where he captained Ajax to Eredivise title success and a semi-final finish in the Champions league having knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus enroute.

Barcelona are favourites to sign the youngster and have had representatives speak to his agent, Mino Raiola but the Catalan club are unwilling to deliver the huge wages De Ligt is asking for.

Manchester United on the other hand are desperate to land the 19 year old and have expressed their willingness to offer the Dutch’s asking wage, however, the red devils will be unable to offer the defender a chance to win the title in his first season, neither would they be participating in Champions League football come next season and therefore do not look like a likely destination for the young prospect.

While deals with the two clubs are stalling, Juventus have swooped in, looking to sign the play under the very noses of their European rivals according to a report by Tuttosport.

De Ligt has been open about his future plans in recent weeks but has been quite dodgy with the name of the club.

However, it looks like his heart is set on a move to the LaLiga or Premier League as opposed to the Serie A.

De Ligt in an interview with ESPN said:

“Where do I see myself? Well, obviously, the Premier League is a big competition, Spain also,” he said.

“But you have other competitions, it’s not just about those two.

“I still don’t know anything about where my future is, so I see how it goes. First we have to play two games and then after that I will see what happens next.”
