Akwa Ibom state government relieves Commissioner suspends Chairman of Local Government Service Commission

– The Akwa Ibom state government has relived the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Dr Uduak Udo-Iyang without any reason

– The state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Professor Nse Essien has been given the directives to take over from Uduak Udo-Iyang 

– Also the state government has suspended the chairman of the local government service commission, Valentine Attah over his alleged involvement in illegal recruitment into the service

A new report has made it known that Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom has relieved the state commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Uduak Udo-Iyang of his duties.

The announcement was made public on Thursday via a statement made by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwen, who stressed that the Governor’s directive was to be followed with immediate effect.

According to Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwen, Governor Udom Emmanuel further gave directives that the state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Professor Nse Essien, should immediately take over the duties and functions of Dr Udo-Inyang.

The Governor, however, applauded the former commissioner for his service to the state as he wished him good luck in his future endeavors.

A report made it known that no reason was given for the decision taken by the governor.

Also in another report, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem also announced that the state Governor has given his approval to the suspension of chairman of the state’s Local Government Service Commission, Valentine Attah.

According to the statement released, it explained that Valentine Attah was suspended for his alleged involvement in illegal recruitment into the Local Government Service Commission.

However, the report didn’t disclosed when he would be recalled to duty.
