Alleged Drug Trafficking: Zainab’s Father Speaks on Daughter’s Release By Saudi Arabia Gov’t

Habibu Kila Aliyu, the father of Zainab Aliyu, who was recently released by the Saudi Authorities through intervention from President Muhammadu sincerely thanked the Federal Government for its effort in rescuing their daughter from the cold hand of death.
According to the narcotic law in Saudi Arabia, anyone found with ban substance such as cocaine is punished by death.
Through the intervention of the Nigerian Mission, when President Buhari directed the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, to do everything necessary to ensure Zainab’s release after reports proved that she was innocent of the crime alleged.

Speaking on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Nationwide news, Habibu took the situation as a test of their faith by God.
“As have said earlier, I took as a test from God. There is no human who won’t be tested. And that’s the test and God willing, we have passed the test.
While expressing the appreciation of his family to the Nigerian government, Habibu noted the trauma they went through was killing.
“It’s not a matter of somebody that has died, it’s about someone who is going to be killed innocently and you can imagine a daughter being snatched away from her mother’s hand.
“The mother had to leave that country when her visa expired. When she came back, you can understand we have gone through.
“I can express, but sincerely speaking, I must sincerely thank Nigerians for their support morally, financially and otherwise for their prayers and I must thank the president, Muhammadu Buhari and I must sincerely thank the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa because she has done a wonderful thing. She is a wonderful woman because, through her, we got this done in two weeks,” he said.
