APC to Hold Emergency NEC on Tuesday

The All Progressives Congress will be holding an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

This was announced via a statement by the acting National Secretary, Chief (Hon.) Victor T. Giadom in Abuja on Friday night. In the statement, the party invited all NEC members to attend the emergency meeting in line with Article 25 (B) (II) of the Constitution of the Party.

The meeting will hold by 3:00 pm prompt at the National Executive Committee Hall at the party national secretariat in Abuja.

The statement further enjoined all members of the National Executive Committee to be seated before the arrival of the President.

After an FCT High Court order had suspended the APC chairman, Adams Oshimhole from parading himself as the chairman, the former Edo governor immediately filed an appeal.

Presently, he has not been allowed to go into the party building along with his aides.

It was gathered that those loyal to a chieftain of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu want the newly appointed Deputy National Chairman, South, Abiola Ajimobi to take charge.

On the other hand, some considered as anti-Tinubu also want the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom who has been acting as National Secretary, to hold fort.

Some governors of the party had on Thursday night met to deliberate on how best to sustain the tempo to get Oshiomhole out of office.

According to reports, the Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, was at the Presidential Villa was earlier on Friday to brief President Muhammadu Buhari on the position of the governors.
