Arsenal Share Spoils With Norwich In Ljungberg’s First Game In Charge

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang found the net twice as Arsenal failed to take all maximum points in their visit away to Norwich City. The Gunners dropped even more points in Freddie Ljunberg’s first game in temporary charge as the North London club played a 2-2 draw with the Canaries.

Finnish striker, Teemu Pukki put the hosts ahead through a deflected shot before Aubameyang levelled matters via a retaken penalty with his first penalty saved by Tim Krul.

Attacking midfielder, Todd Cantwell put the hosts ahead once again with a brilliant finish before Aubameyang levelled for a second time from a corner kick.

Ljungberg who took over the reins at Emirates on a temporary basis since the sack of Unai Emery on Friday made five changes from the Spanish boss’s side that took on Frankfurt.

He also retained Granit Xhaka for the first time since he was stripped of his captaincy band in October.

The hosts took the lead through Pukki who latched on to a pass from McLean and saw his shot deflected off the legs of Skodran Mustafi and beyond the reach of Berd Leno.

Arsenal were then awarded a spot kick when Mesut Ozil’s freekick greeted the arm of Christoph Zimmermann who argued he was pushed. However, the defender wasn’t saved by a BAR review

Krul’s antics unsettled Aubameyang and Norwich’s goalie saved his penalty. A VAR review insisted that there was an encroachment in the penalty box before the rebound was cleared.

A composed Aubameyang then retook the penalty to level matters.

The Canaries later restored their lead through Cantwell who finished off a counter attack.

Aubameyang once again restored parity when the ball fell to him following a corner kick for the Gunners.

Both sides pushed for a winning goal with Leno the busier of goal keepers but none could make the cut.
