Arsene Wenger Takes On First Job After Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has been unveiled as FIFA’s new Chief of Global Football Development. This comes just one year after leaving the game following his departure from North London side, Arsenal.

The legendary Arsenal gaffer has now made a sensational return to the footballing circle, in an unexpected capacity.

Wenger quit Arsenal at the end of the 2018-19 season, having stayed 22 years at the club.

The 70-year-old will long be remembered as one of the longest-serving coaches at one club in Premier Lesgue history, lifting 17 trophies in that period, three of which were Premier League titles.

Wenger has been linked to a host of vacancies all across Europe, most recent of which is Bayern Munich who have been on the lookout for a replacement for the sacked Niko Kovac.

However, these links can no longer materialize as he has now been announced as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, with the announcement made on Wednesday.

“I very much look forward to taking on this extremely important challenge, not only because I have always been interested in analysing football from a broader perspective but also because FIFA’s mission as world football’s governing body is truly global,” the 70-year-old said.

“I believe that the new FIFA we have seen emerging in recent years has the sport itself at the very heart of its objectives and is determined to develop the game in its many different components.

“I know I can contribute to this objective and will put all my energy into this.
