– He stated that it was a ploy by the Pres. Muhammadu Buhari led administration to ensure that there are a low turnout of voters on the stipulated date

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alh. Atiku Abubakar in a statement released yesterday following the postponement of the 2019 General Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has pointed accusing fingers at the All Progressive Congress APC and Pres. Muhammadu Buharu as the reason behind the postponed election.

Atiku in his statement stated that INEC had all the time to prepare for the General Election for Nigerians to excise their Franchise.

He however claimed that the postponement of the election was a ploy by the Pres. Muhammadu Buhari led administration to ensure that the turnout of voters on the rescheduled date become low in order for the APC to rig the election.

But the APC as well as Pres. Muhammadu Buhari have expressed their dissatisfaction at the latest decision taken by INEC.

Below is an extract from the statement released by Alh. Atiku Abubakar on the 16th of Feb,

Knowing that the Nigerian people are determined to reject them, they are desperate and will do anything in their power to avoid their rejection by the Nigerian people,” he said.

“Their plan is to provoke the public, hoping for a negative reaction, and then use that as an excuse for further anti-democratic acts,” the presidential hopeful added.

“Please come out to vote on Saturday, 23 February and Saturday, 9 March respectively. Frustrate those who do not want this election to hold by coming out in very large numbers. That is the best antidote to their plans.”
