The Former President was gladly welcomed by the Deji of Akure, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi.
According to the traditional ruler of Akure, he made it known that Atiku was one of the brains behind the creation of the country’s anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commision.
The King added that the PDP candidate knows how to fight corruption.
Oba Aladetoyinbo said, “I’ve heard a lot about Atiku as a very successful businessman. I also learnt he was the brain behind the establishment of EFCC and that shows he understands how to fight corruption. You can’t be corrupt and yet create an institution that will fight corruption.”
The king disclosed that Atiku Abubakar is well experienced to manage the affairs of the country having played the role of the Vice President under former President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999 to 2007.
He said, “This is the type of people that Nigeria needs and should be put forward in these times when the economy is going down.
“As traditional rulers, we must be neutral. I’m just saying what I heard about him. If Nigerians think deeply they should know who to vote for.”
Atiku in his response challenged the ruling party, All Progressive Congress for not filling their promises to the public.
He further added that the PDP will continue to hold cultural heritage in high esteem.
