Aubameyang Equals Arsenal Legend Goalscoring Record

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the second Arsenal player to notch as many as seven goals in the Gunners first seven games of the campaign.

The Gabon International became a part of an exclusive goalscoring club following Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United.

His goal against the Red Devils saw him become the second player in the North London club to score at least seven times in the first seven matches of a Premier League campaign.

The Gabonese who shared the Premier League top goalscorer prize with two other Africans in Mane and Salah scored the leveller at Old Trafford.

McTominay had put the hosts ahead in the first forty-five minutes before Aubameyang scored the equalizer. His goal was first ruled for offside before a VAR ruling placed the striker on the scoresheet.

The 2015 African Player of the Year, thanks to his recent performances has inked his name in goal alongside club legend, Dennis Bergkamp who had achieved the feat in the 1997-98 season.

To underline his efficiency, Aubameyang has found the net 14 times in his last 14 starts for the North London side.

Arsenal are now fourth on the Premier League log having garnered 12 points from seven fixtures following their draw with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side.

The 28-year-old is poised to extend his goal scoring streak when his side take on Bournemouth at the Emirates stadium on Sunday.

The former Dortmund forward has stacked up incredible numbers since his move to the Emirates in 2017.

He has formed an effective partnership with Alexandre Lacazette ever since. Summer signing and fellow African, Pepe hasn’t however hit the ground running in the Premier League.

The former Lille winger has struggled for form and has performed below par since his switch.
