Aubameyang Hattrick Sends Arsenal To Europa Finals In Baku
Arsenal have found themselves in the Europa finals to be played in Balu thanks to the finesse of two of Europe’s finest strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lacazette.
There was no possibility of repeating the comebacks produced by Liverpool and Tottenham as Aubameyang brutal and relentless quality silenced the raucous Valencia crowd.
For every time they pushed for a comeback, the Gabonese stung them with one precise finish after the other.
The pair of Aubameyang and Lacaze6have now notched a total of 10 goals out of Arsenal’s last 16 and fans of the North London club will be ever grateful to Unai Emery who has mastered the logic of this competition, winning a grand 19 of 19 knockout ties in the Europa league.
Valencia got the first from a quick counterattack attack which Kevin Gameiro slid into the net.
The Mestalla hummed, jeered and whistled hoping for a remontada and Arsenal knew they had to be relentless and aggressive all at once.
At this point, Valencia needed only one more goal to make it to the finals in Baku. Then, Lacazette turned an aimless hoof into an assist, flicking the ball through for Aubameyang who levelled matters.
Fans of the North London club became increasingly delirious and Lacazette soon got another with the Frenchman summing those hips and sending a low shot into the corner of the net.
Gameiro got another and looked to restore hope but a cross from Maitland-Niles which Aubameyang sent into the net meant that the game was over.
Valencia needed to score four! How possible was that?
Well, the Gabonese wasn’t done yet as he gunned for a hat trick. Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s ball found him in the box and the goal produced thereafter was supersonic and emphatic to say the least.
If Aubameyang continues to wear this form, Arsenal are going to be impossible to stop in the competition’s finals.
Good work from Unai Emery to work these two impeccable strikers together.
Valencia 2-4 Arsenal it ended.
Arsenal qualify on a (3-7 aggregate) scoreline.
