Aubameyang In Contention For Premier League Player Of The Month Of February

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be battling Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes for the Premier League Player of the Month for month of February.

The Arsenal forward has been phenomenal in front of goal in February, notching three goals in all three league games he played.

To make up the list are Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matt Doherty, Burnley’s Nick Pope and Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso

In February, Aubameyang’s three goals helped his North London side to two wins and one draw in England’s top-flight.

The 30-year-old who has already scored 17 goals in 25 games this term, is joint scorer of the Premier League alongside Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.

The Gabonese last lifted the award in September last year and would be looking to possibly lift it for the second time the campaign.

Aubameyang who nearly helped the Gunners past Olympiakos in their Premier League clash is optimistic ahead of a league encounter with West Ham. He would be hopeful he can help the North London outfit continue their seven-game unbeaten run when they take on the Hammers.

January signing,  Fernandes is also up for the prize after having a bright start to life at Old Trafford. He’s felt like lethal fire injected into the final third at United, helping players like Fred and Ighalo up front liven up.

In addition to that, he’s found the net on several occasions while slipping in assists in between. He remains one of Aubameyang’s biggest contenders. Can the former Sporting Lisbon man pick the award of the Gabonese. Time would answer that.
