Barcelona In Advanced Talks With Valencia For Luis Suarez Replacement
Barcelona are now in advanced talks with Valencia over the signing of Rodrigo Moreno, confirms Valencia boss.
The Catalan giants are currently in search of a replacement for the injured Luis Suarez and see the 28-year-old as the perfect piece.
Valencia boss, Albert Celades has revealed that negotiations with Barcelona for the striker are open.
Rodrigo made a return from injury on Saturday as his side pipped Barcelona to a 2-0 win with Quique Setien overseeing his first loss since he replaced the departed Ernesto Valverde.
While the Spaniard missed training to have a knee check-up at Barcelona, a possible switch to the Camp Nou seems imminent for the Brazilian-born striker.
On Tuesday, the president of the Blaugranas, Josep Bartomeu confirmed Barcelona’s interest in Rodrigo and insisted the Spanish giants are on the lookout for a Suarez replacement. The Uruguayan is expected to be on the sidelines with a knee injury for up to four months.
New Barcelona boss, Setien was full of praise for the forward, describing him as an extraordinary footballer ahead of their weekend clash.
Valencia gaffer, Celades is not surprised by Barcelona’s interest in the 28-year-old who has already notched four goals and made eight assists in 23 Laliga and Champions League appearances, with the Spanish boss reiterating his discussions with the forward.

“Rodrigo is a player who can make the difference, that’s why Barcelona want him,” Valencia boss told a media conference ahead of Valencia’s Copa del Rey clash with Segunda Division B side Cultural Leonesa on Wednesday.
“The negotiation is open and we will not hide.
“Rodrigo and I have talked. I can’t make a private conversation public.”
Barcelona have also been strongly linked with a move for Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes, with emerging reports suggesting that the LaLiga giants want to buy him and then ship to Valencia on loan.
