Basketmouth Counts Himself Lucky For Not Cancelling UK Tour Due To Now-Suspended General Elections

Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bright Okpocha known by stage name, Basketmouth has counted himself as lucky for not cancelling or postponing his UK tour due to the 2019 General Elections which had now been suspended till the 23rd of February.

iDONSABI.com in an earlier report made a comprehensive list of the cities and venues to be visited by the comedian in his UK Tour. According to that report, his UK tour titled ‘Son of Peter’ were to hold between the 8th of February and 16th of February with the final day clashing with the proposed date of the 2019 General Elections in Nigeria.

The comedian seems to have been caught up between deciding to carry on with the show in the UK and returning to his home country to cast his vote.

With the elections now postponed, Basketmouth thinks he was right not to have brought a sudden halt or postponement to activities lined up for his show.

He took a swipe at the Electoral body, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Federal Government of Nigeria who failed to resolve the logistics problems ahead of the elections despite having four years since the last elections to adequately make preparations.

This he did by mentioning that he stuck to the dates he had previously listed out despite not having as much time suggesting that the Electoral body weren’t competent in their job.

“Even though we didn’t have 4yrs to plan this tour, at least we stuck to our dates…thank you so much Birmingham for coming out to have fun with me ‘The Son of Peter’ Kai!! Imagine if I had cancelled my tour just to appear patriotic for you people!!! #DiaFada. See you tonight Manchester!!! I saved the best for last”

Basketmouth will be performing at the Hilton hotel Deansgate, Manchester in the last of his Son of Peter Tour in the UK.
