Bayern Confirm Loan Deal For Coutinho

The duo of Bayern and Barcelona have confirmed that Philippe Coutinho would be leaving for the Allianz Arena on a season-long loan deal.

This impending deal was revealed in the wake of their 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin on Friday night by Bayern Sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic. In accordance, the former Liverpool man was left out of the squad that locked horns with Athletic Bilbao in the Blaugranas Laliga opener.

The Brazilian had failed to reproduce the kind of form that tempted Barcelona into bringing him to the Nou Camp in a £142 million deal in January 2018.

Coutinho will be making way to the Bundesliga to pitch tent with the Bavarians on a season-long deal with the option of a permanent buy.

“I can confirm that (chief executive) Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and I were in Barcelona and we have reached an agreement with the club, player and agent,” Bayern Sporting director, Salihamidzic was quoted as telling broadcaster ZDF.

“We are delighted to have brought him to Bayern. It is a one-year loan deal with an option to buy him for Bayern. He is a very versatile player who will surely give us a lot of options.

“Only a few details are still to be sorted out. We are very happy that we will bring this player to Bayern.”

Coutinho, 27 will become Bayern’s fifth signing of the summer after the Brazilian’s future rivalled Neymar’s for the most discussed transfer speculation all summer.

With the arrival of Antoine Griezmann and a move for Neymar seemingly likely, the Brazilian seems to have fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp.

Neymar left Barcelona for PSG in a stunning deal worth £200 million in 2017 but is now seeking a move back to the Spanish giants.

Barcelona are in turn trying to free up funds to bring back the Golden Boy back into their fold.
