‘Be Magnanimous in Victory’, Buhari Congratulates Oyetola on Supreme Court Ruling
- The president commends the government and people of Osun for allowing the rule of law to run its entire course.
- Buhari urges the governor to make concrete moves towards inclusive governance.
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Governor Gboyega Oyetola on the affirmation of his electoral victory by the Supreme Court on Friday morning.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Ademola Adeleke contested the election of Oyetola who was declared the winner of the September 2018 governorship poll after a rerun.

Buhari in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, stated that the court judgement has laid to rest the tussle over the governorship of Osun State and removed all encumbrances on the path of the governor from fully delivering dividends of democracy to his people.
“President Buhari commends the government and people of Osun in allowing the rule of law to run its entire course, urging them as well as security agencies to sustain the peace.
“He calls on the victorious governor and the ruling All Progressives Congress party to be magnanimous in victory and make concrete moves towards inclusive governance as may be necessary,” the president was quoted saying.

President Buhari also expressed the Federal Government’s continued willingness to partner the State Government for the betterment of the people going forward
