Be Steadfast, Believe That Victory Is Sure, Osinbajo Urges Nigerians

The Vice President, ProfessorYemi Osinbajo has called on Nigerians to be steadfast and believe that despite the challenges facing the nation, victory was sure.

Speaking on Sunday during the 2019 Presidential Inauguration Service at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, the nation’s capital on the the theme of the service: “Setting the Nation on Higher Levels of Peace and Development in the Fear of God’’, Osinbajo called Nigerians to rise and take their rightful place as lights of the world, so that those in darkness would see their light.

While noting that human being salt of the earth as Jesus said because their lives enhance and give meaning to this existence we call life, Osinbajo said the implication is that human beings have to be a source of joy to one another.

While expressing reassurance that the future of the nation was bright, Osinbajo pointed out that though the nation might be clouded with darkness, confusion and different challenges, at the end, it shall be great again.

The vice president, therefore, urged Nigerians to rise above ethnicity and religious sentiment, and see one another as one and to be confident in the promise of God upon the nation.

Also speaking at the occasion, former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), prayed for a peaceful Nigeria, urging the citizens to work towards a more prosperous and united country.

Archbishop Augustine Akabueze, the President, Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), during his sermon said socio-economic disparity was to be blamed for the challenges in the country.
