Ben Bruce advises Senate President to Protect and Project the Interest of Nigerians

– Ben Murray Bruce has congratulated Ahmed Lawan as the new Senate President

– He, however, admonished the Senate President to protect and project the interest of Nigerians not Aso Rock’s

– Bruce also congratulated the new Minority leader in the Senate, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe

Former Senator, Ben Murray Bruce, who represented Bayelsa state in the 8th National Assembly in a latest statement has sent his congratulatory message to the Senate Pres. of the 9th National Assembly, Ahmed Lawan.

Ben Murray Bruce in his message also advised the Senate President on what is expected of him as the head of the Legislative Arm of Government.

The former Senator advised Sen. Pres., Ahmed Lawan to see himself as the head of the arm of Government that must provide oversight over the executive arm.

He added that the Senate President must protect and project the interest of Nigerians over the executive.

Ben Bruce in his statement said, “I congratulate Senator Ahmed Lawan, and admonish him to see himself as he really is, which is as head of the arm of government that must provide oversight over the executive. Senator Lawan the Nigerian people look up to him to protect and project their interest not @AsoRock’s.”

Ben Bruce also took time to congratulate the new minority leader of the Senate, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, whom he described as a friend and a brother.”

He said, “Congratulations to my good friend and brother, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, on his emergence as minority leader of the #9thSenate. He will do well.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe is from Abia South and was nominated by the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

Also Sen. Emmanuel Bchawa from Taraba remains the Deputy Minority leader, while Sen. Philip Aduda also maintain his post as the Minority whip.
