Bimbo Ademoye is an award-winning Nigerian actress, model, fit-fam activist and brand ambassador. She’s one of the fast rising actress in the movie industry. The Nollywood star is one of the actresses to watch out for in Nollywood as she keeps getting better with her acting prowess.

Early life and background of Bimbo Ademoye

Bimbo Ademoye was born on the 4th of February, 1991 in Lagos to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adekunle Ademoye. Her parents separated when she was two. She and her sister were brought up by their single father. She had her primary education at St. Margaret’s Primary School, Ikorodu, Lagos and secondary education at Mayflower Secondary School, Ikenne, Ogun State. Bimbo obtained a degree in business administration from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state.

Bimbo was quite naughty while growing up – she did not like going to school or reading. As a kid, she was shy but once she’s comfortable around people, she becomes the loudest in the room. Bimbo was a foodie who had the weird habit of picking food from the floor. She once tried to pick candy from the gutter. The actress didn’t have a rosy upbringing as things were quite tough for them and she had to live with her aunty.

Her Acting Career

As a 7-year old, Bimbo always knew she wanted to be an actress. After being cheered by an audience of over 600 people in a play she acted in, she felt like a celebrity and concluded that she was going to be an actress. She went for every audition she got wind of. Her dad played an instrumental role in her acting career. He took Bimbo to her first audition.

Bimbo Ademoye kick-started her acting career in 2014 when she featured in a short film “Where Talent Lies” and bagged award for the Best Actress at the Africa International Film Festival. She cited Uduak Isong as someone who played immense role and support in her career. The newcomer had always wanted to be independent and work for her own money as a child. This saw her own a hair business, worked as a presenter, marketer and front desk officer. In 2015, she featured in movie “Its About Your Husband” which was produced by Emem Isong.

In a 2018 compilation by Premium Times newspaper, Ademoye was listed as one of five actors who were predicted to have a successful career before the end of the year. The promising actress has starred in several movies like Gone, Personal assistant, Diary of a crazy Nigerian woman, Light in the dark, Backup wife amongst others. The chic, simple and sexy star got her breakthrough with the Backup wife.

Recently, she gave a stellar performance in Sugar Rush, a  critically-acclaimed comedy that made the 100 million Naira mark in January 2020, after a month of its release. It peaked at number 4 on the list of the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

In May 19, 2020, the fashion entrepreneur bagged an ambassadorial deal with Big shipment Global Limited.
