Chukwudi Echezona Chukwujekwu popularly known as Blossom Chukwujekwu is a renowned Nigerian actor, television personality and model. The fast rising star is one of the new faces of Nollywood who has been gracing the silver screens of recent.

Early life and background of Blossom Chukwujekwu

Blossom Chukwujekwu was born on the 4th of November, 1983 in Benin, Edo State, Nigeria to Dr I.E and Evangelist J.C Chukwujekwu. He is the first of two sons and an indigene of Otolo, Nnewi North, Anambra state. For his primary and secondary education, he attended Greater Tomorrow Primary School and Greater Tomorrow Comprehensive College both in Benin City, Edo State.

He briefly studied Mass Communications at Anambra State University of Science and Technology before proceeding to Benson Idahosa University, Benin City to complete his studies. While studying at Benson Idahosa University, he was President of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS). Blossom was actively involved in the arts; he joined the popular House of Theatre (H.O.T) where he played the lead role in the stage drama, Godless: The path to dawn. According to the Nollywood star, playing Ukemu in Godless was a breakthrough for him. On completion of his National Youth Service Corps in Lagos, he stayed back to chase his acting dream.

His Acting Career

After several auditioning, Blossom got the lead role in popular Nigerian soap opera, Portrait Of Passion in 2009. That same year, he was featured alongside Omotola Jalade and Ramsey Nouah in Vivian Ejike’s Private Storm. In 2012, Blossom featured in a blockbuster movie “Flower Girl” which brought him to stardom. Flower girl was critically acclaimed and achieved commercial success in Nigeria, Ghana, the United Kingdom and film festivals in the USA and Canada. Veteran Nollywood director, Charles Novia named him as one of the best actors of 2013.

The award winning actor starred in another blockbuster movie Finding Mercy which was one of the most successful movies of 2013. The movie was also premiered at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF 2013). Africa Magic’s Nollywood show, Jara outlined Blossom as one of the top 5 actors to watch out for in 2013. His acting prowess has seen him feature in movies Knocking on Heaven’s Door (2014) The Visit (2015) A Place Called Happy (2015) Ghana Must Go (2016) amongst others. He has also starred in quite a number of TV dramas & series, such as Tinsel, Shuga, Greg Odutayo’s My Mum and I, About to Wed and Married and telenovella, Taste of Love.

Blossom Chukwujekwu’s Relationship and Family Life

On the 19th of December, 2015, Blossom Chukwujekwu got married traditionally to his long time girlfriend and fashion designer, Maureen. The couple separated in September 2019. The three years marriage reportedly crashed on allegations of infidelity. Till date, the reason for the breakup remains unknown as the former lovebirds have kept mum about the issue.
