Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju popularly known as Bobrisky is a Nigerian internet sensation, cross-dresser, actor and entrepreneur. Pegged Nigeria’s male barbie doll, Bobrisky became famous after publicly displaying his homosexuality on Snapchat. Though homosexuality is an act punishable by the Nigerian law, Bobrisky has managed to live and walk freely in the society.
Early life and background of Bobrisky
Bobrisky was born on the 1st of September, 1992 in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, Nigeria. A native of Ogun State, the Nigerian male Barbie grew up in a polygamous family. The youngest child of the family, Bobrisky practised Islam for a while before converting to Christianity. According to her, the stress associated with the religion made her convert to a Christian. Having attended Kings College, one of the prestigious schools in the country, she proceeded to earn a degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos. She was honoured as the Best Dressed Male in her faculty. At age 16, she started fending for herself and she got repeatedly beaten by her mother for feminine inclinations. The superstar revealed that her mother once hired hooligans for her.
In May 2019, Bobrisky confirmed that her pronouns are “she” and “her” after receiving several misgendered comments on her instagram profile.

Being a fashion inclined individual, Bobrisky once sold clothes to make ends meet. Her business strategy then was to dress unusually to attract mostly female customers to her store. She also worked as a choreographer who trained people on the various trending dance steps. Her feminine acts saw her applying makeups in the university and wearing ladies clothings. Then, she used to deceive men in clubs and bars, but always decline when an admirer expressed a desire for intimacy.
She gained huge following on social media due to her controversial nature. She also became the most searched celebrity on Google in 2016. She once uploaded a picture on Instagram claiming she’s beautiful than 75% of most Nigerian women. She received a lot of backlash from ladies. Bobrisky is coined from her childhood nickname “Bob”. Later on, she added the suffix “risky” to it. In November 2019, the Nigerian transgender divulged that she underwent major surgery to add feminine parts to her body. It’s unclear if she has undergone genital reassignment surgery that is, if she’s been made to resemble females.

The cross dresser is quite adept at business. She deals with creams called Bobrisky bleaching cream. With exports to countries like the United Kingdom and Germany, the cream became internationally famous. The Barbie doll has made quite a fortune for herself.

Ever since she’s come out to declare her sexuality, she’s been trailed by controversies. Bobrisky was once arrested for dressing as a woman.That marked the beginning of her woes. She’s being trolled on the internet and had problems with the police severally. She’s been at loggerheads with celebrities like MC Galaxy, Tobi of Big Brother Naija: Double Wahala, Denrele, Daddy Freeze, Tunde Ednut, and others.

There’s been speculations that the self acclaimed male barbie and Tonto Dikeh are an item. Both of them have since come out to refute the claims. They claimed they’re best of friends. The beauty therapist has been involved in a number of relationships.
