Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is an award-winning Nollywood actress, movie producer and director. The leading actress is also an influencer, motivational speaker and masterclass teacher. She’s been acting for over a decade and has so far featured in over 350 movies.
Early life and background of Chioma Chukwuka
Chioma Chukwuka was born on the 12th of March, 1980 in Lagos state, Nigeria. The Nollywood sweetheart hails from Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. For her primary education, she attended Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State. She had her secondary education at Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State before proceeding to Lagos State University to obtain a degree in Banking and Finance.
Her Acting Career
Chioma had always wanted to be on TV right from her childhood days. Her mother was against her dreams of becoming an actress as she assumed acting was for loose girls. The talented actress proved her mum wrong by becoming one of the most respected and prominent screen personality. She played a minor role in movie – Skita before making her acting debut in the movie “The Apple” in 2000.
The movie “Sins of the flesh” brought her to limelight and she gained recognition by winning the award for “Best Actress in a Lead Role” award at the 2007 African Movie Academy Awards. Chioma has transited from being an actress to movie producer and director. As a film maker, Chioma has produced/co-produced over 8 movies including the award-nominated blockbuster On Bended Knees. She’s inspired by the works of Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw and Ramsey Noah. Chioma is one of the Nigerian celebrity that has been able to live a scandal free life. The veteran actress is fondly called “Nollywood Virgin” due to her innocent roles in movies.
In October 2011, Chioma established Oma World Company. The company offers acting, grooming, producing and screenwriting services. She received a honorary award for celebrity in Nigeria who has contributed immensely to the economy growth and development of the country through entertainment.

Chioma launched her capacity building platform called Masterclass with Chioma in January 2019. The masterclass aims at teaching aspiring talents especially in the movie industry.
