Denola Adepetu popularly known as Denola Grey is a fashion consultant, actor, content creator and an on-air personality. With his persona, style and ambitions, Denola has revolutionise the fashion industry in Nigeria.

Early life and background of Denola Grey

Denola Grey was born August 13 1990 in Lagos State, Nigeria. Hailing from Ondo State, he was brought up in Lagos where he had his elementary and secondary school education. Having attended Greenspring schools for his primary and secondary education, he proceeded to study at Oxbridge Tutorial College for a year. Thereafter, he attended Baylor University where he obtained a degree in Media business majoring in Analysis of Media and Fashion Market. He worked as a fashion PR in New York before relocating to Nigeria for his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). Growing up, he faced lots of criticisms because of his feminine acts. While in secondary school, he was nicknamed Barbie because he wasn’t masculine and he never took part in activities as the other boys. All these criticisms didn’t deter him from chasing his dreams.

His Rise to Fame

From an early age, Denola has always loved fashion. He was always conscious of his outfits such that he only wears clothings which suit his personality and aesthetic. He delved into a world of fashion at age 18. Denola commenced his career as an intern in CMC in 2008. Two years later, he began working for Fruition Image Consulting. In 2012, he expanded his media consultancy skills at PRC Consulting, where he assisted in organizing the New York Fashion Week and a launch party for ACNE Paper magazine.

2013 saw him working as a supervisor at Walter Baker. His fashion inclinations saw him working with a Lagos-based fashion brand, ALARA Lagos, where he learned the rudiments of the fashion business. In 2014, his career took an uphill as he worked for EbonyLife TV, Bella Naija, and The Guardian. Prior to him working with the media brands, he was writing tips on fashion and designing on his blog, Denolagrey.com. The blog is still active till date. In terms of fashion, Denolagrey.com is highly recognised in the media space.

He recorded fashion tips for EbonyLife’s Fashion for men segment, wrote for BellaNaija and The Guardian as a fashion columnist. He also produced various fashion projects, like Glam Squad on Africa Magic.
The style blogger who has many sides to him delved into acting, starring alongside RMD and Eku Edewor in the TV series, Castle & Castle. He also featured alongside Osas Ighodaro and Sharon Ooja in The Bling Lagosians. He also produced various fashion projects, like Glam Squad on Africa Magic.
Presently, he works with Orange Culture and he is one of the brand Ambassadors for Lagos State Fashion Week (LFW).

There’s been lots of controversies about his sexuality. Many people have tagged him gay and others bisexual. Some compare him to Bobrisky. The gay rumour came about after a picture of him and Noble Igwe was posted on Instagram. There is no information to suggest that the influencer is a gay.
