Ireti Doyle is Nigerian actress, script writer, producer, presenter and entrepreneur. Having an acting career spanning over two decades, Ireti is regarded as ‘actor’s actor’ due to her delivery of pitch perfect performances on stage and films and excellent interpretation of roles.
Early life and background of Ireti Doyle
The seasoned actress was born as Iretiola Olusola Ayinke on the 3rd of May, 1967. She hails from Ondo state, the south western part of Nigeria. The Lagos state born spent her early years in with her family in Boston, United States before moving back to Nigeria to complete her education.On her return to Nigeria, she attended Christ’s School Ado Ekiti and bagged a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Jos.
Her Acting Career
Ireti kickstarted her acting career in 1995 during one of her school strikes. She utilised the opportunity and auditioned for a role in the TV series Riddles and Hopes. She was inspired to go into acting after watching Joke Silva in Lola Fani Kayode produced TV series, Mind bending. While building her acting career, she also ventured into hosting television programs. She anchored shows like Morning Ride on STV, Nimasa This Week on Channels TV, e.t.c. She also wrote columns for This Day Newspaper, City People, Saturday Vanguard, e.t.c.
In 2000, she worked as a production assistant with Patrick Doyle Media. She was given the task of producing a fashion show, Oge with Iretiola, which became a household name. The show ran consecutively for 10 years. Oge With Iretiola showcases Africa’s finest in terms of fashion and trends. She has interviewed entertainers, entrepreneurs and icons who also acts as role models to the young and upcoming. The show which stopped 2010 was revived and premiered on September 1 2019. After its premiere, she has interviewed young stars like Adesua Etomi and the popular singer, Simisola Ogunleye (Simi). Issues relating to self-esteem, peer pressure, and other social ills plaguing youths are matters of discussion on the platform.
The veteran actress also run a media consulting and production company called Sisi Ologe Entertainment. Subsequently, she began to write scripts. She wrote the Amaka Igwe’s Tempest, and other interesting stories. She has also starred in Nigerian award winning movies like Fifty, Torn, The Wedding Party, Merry Men, Kasanova e.t.c
Her Entrepreneurial Exploits
As an entrepreneur, Ireti Doyle started running an indigenous organic snail farm in 2017. She currently own the entire production chain from farming all through to sales, with plans to becoming a leading supplier of 100% organic snails in Nigeria and abroad.
Ireti Doyle’s Relationship and Family Life
She is married to veteran broadcaster, Patrick Doyle and they are blessed with six children and grandchildren. In 2017, there were speculations that the actress had left her left her matrimonial home over undisclosed allegations. In March 2019, Patrick reaffirmed his love for his wife, Ireti on social media. It seems the renowned actress has confirmed her separation from her estranged husband as she ignored his apology post.
