Early life and background of Jemima Osunde
Jemima Osunde was born on April 30th in Lagos state, Nigeria. She’s the last child in a family of five. The Edo State indigene had her primary and secondary education in Lagos before proceeding to obtain a degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Lagos.
Her Rise to Fame
Jemima commenced her acting career in 2014 with a debut role in movie “Jungle Jewel”, produced by Ufuoma McDermott. Being the president of the Literary and Debating Club, as well as the Social Prefect in her secondary school had prepared her for the entertainment industry. She got her big break with the lead role “Laila” in MTV Shuga. Laila is a happy teenage high school girl who struggles with her relationship life. The fashion icon has featured in the fourth, sixth and seventh series of the popular show. Her acting prowess has seen her feature in NdaniTV’s Rumour Has It, Delivery boy, New money, Silence, Esohe amongst others. Jemima who is said to be Genevieve’s look-alike starred alongside the leading actress in high profile Netflix movie “Lion Heart”. Due to her excellent acting skills, the New Money star is often compared with popular actress, Adesua Etomi. According to the screen diva, she sees Adesua as her mentor and someone she looks up to and not a rival.

Jemima Osunde’s Relationship
Jemima is still single. She has managed to keep her relationship and personal life private. In an interview with Broadway TV, the Nollywood star was asked to choose between a rich man that is not good in bed and a poor man good in bed. She declared that she would choose a man with matchless sexual prowess over a wealthy man as she would want to be satisfied sexually. In her words:
“I don’t plan to be broke myself, yeah, so a man good in bed is for me not his money, let him give me what I can’t give myself,” she said.
In December 2019, the Nollywood actress and model was slammed by social media users for mocking a toaster. Her tweets caused an uproar on the social media space. She recounted how a guy emphatically asked her out for ten months but was turned down by the screen goddess. Meanwhile, the man was currently engaged which made her ponder what his real intentions were.
She stated:
This man was aggresively toasting me in February….. he’s engaged in December.
So it’s either he really thought that could have been me with the ring on my finger right now (LEEMAO) or he was playing games.
Either way, LEEMAO.
Awards and Nominations
Jemima was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 15th Africa Movie Academy Awards for her performance in The Delivery Boy (2018).
She was also nominated for the TV Actress of the year and Web series category at the 2018 ELOY Awards.
