Biography of Kizz Daniel

Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel, popularly known by his stage name “Kizz Daniel” is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist and stage performer. His singles “Woju” and “Yeba” made hits as it was globally accepted. The hit songs received massive air plays in both clubs, television and radio stations. He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018.

Early life of Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel was born on May 1, 1994, in Ogun State, Nigeria. He hails from Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. For his primary and secondary education, he attended Abeokuta Grammar School and graduated from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering).

While in the university, he developed interest in music and decided to pursue a career in it.
In an interview with Factory78, Kizz Daniel revealed:

My music journey has not been a smooth one, it has always been this up and down. It started when I was really young, around 7, 8 or 9. I started scribbling down lyrics and then my dad noticed that I do that a lot…

From 13, 14, I could actually sing,” he said about how his talent developed. He further stated that a girl gave him his stage name Kiss Daniel. She kept calling him “kiss” and the name stuck.

Kizz Daniel’s Rise to Fame

He started his music career professionally in 2013 after his university education. He came across Emperor Geezy, the CEO of G-Worldwide Entertainment and signed a record deal with the record label. Under the label, he released his first single titled Shoye in 2014 along with the music video some weeks after. Kizz Daniel released his second single “Woju” on September 14, 2014. It was produced by Dj Coublon. The video was shot in Lagos and  directed by Adasa Cookey. The song topped the MTV Base Official Naija Top Ten Chart for eleven weeks. The song “Woju” brought him to limelight.

In May 2015, Kiss Daniel released another hit single “Laye” on his birthday, along with a video two weeks later which was shot in different locations in the eastern part of Africa and was directed by AJE FILMS. Daniel released his first studio album titled New Era on May 14, 2016.

After spending four years in G-Worldwide Entertainment, Kiss Daniel announced his split from the record label. This led to a rift between both parties. After few legal battles in court, both parties parted ways. This split led to the birth of his own label called FLYBOY I.N.C.


In May 2018, he changed his brand name from “Kiss” to “Kizz Daniel “. The name change was as a result of moves made by his former record label, G-Worldwide to own the rights to the name. Thus, he changed his name on all social media platforms to Kizz Daniel. He released his second album, No Bad Songz, under his new label in late 2018.

Kizz Daniel’s songs with David have been a huge success. Their 2018 collaboration, One Ticket, trended in Nigeria shortly after its release. The music video for the song has been watched over 25 million times since its release on YouTube in November 2018.
Seven years in the music industry, the singer is a millionaire and proud owner of two houses in Lagos. He has also bagged a couple of endorsements.

Kizz Daniel’s Relationship

In 2018, it was rumoured that Kizz Daniel and Chidimma, the “Kedike” crooner were dating as they have been spotted together on several occasions including on social media. Kizz Daniel has also been linked to dating Beverly Osu, although there has not been any official confirmation of this.

In 2015 and 2016, he won several awards which include Best New Act of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Hottest Single of the Year “Woju” at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Next Rated Artiste of the Year at the Extreme Awards, Newcomer Revelation of the Year at Maya Awards, Most Popular Song “Woju” at the City People Entertainment Awards, Best Newcomer of the Year at Afrimma Awards, Next Rated at the Headies Awards, Best R&B/Pop album of the Year at the Headies Awards and Best Album of the Year at the Headies Awards.

Kizz Daniel’s Net Worth

According to online sources, Kizz Daniel’s net worth is allegedly between $1 million (₦360 million) and $2.1 million (₦756 million).  He reportedly charges over ₦1 million per show.
