Debo Adebayo better known as Mr Macaroni is an actor, comedian, entrepreneur and social media influencer popularly known for his ‘ooin you’re doing well‘ mantra.
Early life and background of Mr Macaroni
Mr Macaroni was born on the 3rd of May, 1992 in Lagos State, Nigeria into a family of 10. His father was a journalist who worked with a television station while his mother was an educationist. Growing up in the midst of women, his childhood was pretty fun, interesting and adventurous.
After completing his primary and secondary education, he went ahead to study at three different universities before bagging a degree in Creative Arts from the Redeemers University.
Mr Macaroni secured admission to study Law in Lead City University but left the school shortly after it was discovered that the law department wasn’t accredited. He proceeded to study law at Houdegbe North American University in Coutonou, Benin but left the institution after he had a discord with one of the lecturers. His educational pursuits saw him apply to Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) to study Theatre Arts, but was offered English and Media studies. He left the university two years later.
The comedian soon gained admission to study theatre arts at Redeemer’s University in Osun State but was expelled few days to his graduation over a post he made on social media. The University described his Facebook post as offensive, and portraying the university in a bad light. His parents filed a law suit against the school. The case was later settled out of court with the institution retracting its statement. He did his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) and obtained his certification in March 5, 2020.
His Rise to Fame
Mr Macaroni kick-started his career as an actor in the early 2014. Prior to this, his early beginnings saw him mimicking TV personalities like Pastor Chris Oyakilome of Christ Embassy; playing a role in Williams Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice and joining the drama group in his secondary school days. In 2014, the comic sensation left university to pursue his acting career at the PEFTI film institute. Upon leaving the institute, he began auditioning for movie roles and that was how he landed his debut role in Halima Abubakar’s movie “Mistresses”. Since then, he has starred in a number of movies and soap operas including Jenifa’s Diary, House 31, face2face, Royal Outlaw, and SuperStory. He wrote and directed Yoruba movie “Oba-Ara” acting alongside Yewande Adekoya.
He adopted the moniker, Mr Macaroni after featuring in movie Face2Face. At some point, he stopped getting movie roles so he delved into online comedy skits after being inspired by the works of Broda Shaggi and Maraji. Since he began his comedy skits on instagram, he has become a phenomenon in the entertainment industry. He once played the character of an old school teacher before adopting the ‘sugar daddy’ character which he plays in Mr Macaroni series. Mr Macaroni series was birthed from a deal he struck with a company who requested he create a short YouTube video for them. The skit maker has become famous for his key phrases like “Fantabulous”, “Freaky Freaky”, “You are doing well” and “Ooin”.
His skits are mostly satirical, reflecting society and passing messages across with the characters. The videos showcases a rich man who loses his self control whenever he sees beautiful ladies. He has worked alongside top entertainers like Basketmouth, Broda Shaggi, Taaooma amongst others. The internet sensation has given stellar performances at Babcock University, Adeleke University, The Oriental Teacher’s Conference and others.
His brown agbada has become his signatory wear. He first wore the outfit in a comedy video where he played the role of “Sweet daddy” in Falz’s music video. According to the entertainer, the Agbada is a customary wear for a wealthy man in Nigeria. The actor draws inspiration from his immediate environment. He has also proven himself to be an entrepreneur as he runs a Theatre troupe and digital firm, Mr Macaroni Entertainment Ltd which is aimed at producing promotional content for brands.

Not much is known about his love life as he has no documented dateline. He once revealed in an interview that he was still a virgin.
