Osariemen Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro professionally known as Osas Ighodaro is a Nigerian-American actress, producer, host and humanitarian. The Nollywood sweetheart is a force to reckon with in the movie industry.

Early life and background of Osas Ighodaro

Osas Ighodaro was born on the 26th of October, 1990 in Bronx, New York, United States, to Nigerian parents from Edo State. After completing her elementary and high school education in New York, she went ahead to bag a first degree in broadcasting journalism with dual minors in entrepreneurship and theater from Pennsylvania State University. Furthermore, she obtained a master’s degree in fine arts from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University.

Her Acting Career

In 2010, Osas participated in the Miss Black USA beauty pageant emerging winner of the contest. Having develop interest in acting, she auditioned and was selected for the cast of TV series, Tinsel. This led to her relocation to Nigeria with the intent of staying for six months. Six years has turned to years as she’s fallen in love with the Nigerian entertainment industry. In 2012, she made her first acting debut as “Adanna” in Tinsel. This shot her to stardom thus garnering her more roles in movies.

She has featured in several movies and theatre productions like Colored Museum, Revenge of a King, How Sweet, Gbomo Gbomo Express, New Money, King of Boys, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons,We Don’t Live Here Anymore, The Bling Lagosians, Your Excellency amongst others. She has worked alongside prominent artistes such as Ramsey Nouah, Alex Ekubo, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Toni Tones, Adesua Etomi, Sola Sobowale and other legendary actors. Osas has hosted quite a number of events like the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Maltina Dance All Reality Show, Nigerian Entertainment Awards, Future Awards, Eco Bank Festival Show, e.t.c

Her Endorsements

The sultry actress has bagged a couple of endorsement deals with brands. In February, 2015, she was unveiled as the ambassador for the popular luxury store, Polo Avenue. Furthermore, she became a brand ambassador to Tremendoc on August 23, 2019. Tremendoc is a platform designed that gives people with medical needs access to doctors at their convenience.

Her Humanitarian Works

The loss of her elder sister, Joy to Malaria inspired the launching of her foundation “Joyful Joy Foundation” in 2012. Joyful Joy is aimed at combating malaria among people. Through this platform, the screen goddess has been doing outreaches across African countries. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
