Patricia Bright is a fast rising British YouTuber, beauty and fashion blogger with a following of 1.1 million on instagram and 2.9 million subscribers on her channel, BritPopPrincess. She creates content on beauty and fashion trends ranging from makeup reviews, makeup tutorials etc.

Early life of Patricia Bright

Born February 4, 1987 to a Nigerian Delta Igbo parents in the UK. She’s fondly known as Onyebuchi – her Igbo name meaning ‘Who is greater than God? ‘. She grew up in Battersea, London. In the early 90s, her mother moved from Nigeria to London where she met her father, a Nigerian international student studying in the UK. Patricia got her sense of style from her mother. As a cleaner who trained as a nurse before establishing her own property company, she applauds her mum for her impressive work ethic.

She was initially studying International Fashion Marketing, then switched to Accounting and Finance at Manchester Metropolitan University as she was good in Maths. But even while she was studying, she found time to run a hair saloon from her living room to fund her education – and this was where her love for hair began. Then, she’d charged the other girls for styling their hair. She taught herself to do weaves and extensions. In her penultimate year, she applied for a women in technology networking event and secured a spot. After that, she landed an internship with investment bank, Merrill Lynch on degree completion with a £30,000 yearly salary and 5k sign on bonus.

She launched her popular YouTube channel in February 2009, posting her first video, “NEW YORK VISIT & OUTFIT”. Her first YouTube video was a minute and a half long. Her first video got popular so she created a second vlog called Britpop life vlog. There, she reviewed make-up products brands like Too Faced, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Kylie, and Fenty Beauty. Her third video was a DIY where she put buttons and trims on to a few Primark tops. Patricia’s YouTube career paved way for her to be a style icon. All thanks to her impeccable sense of fashion and styling.

In 2013, she became a full-time vlogger as she was making enough money from her YouTube channel compared to her pay as a business analyst consultant.

Patricia’s Awards and Achievements

In 2018, Patricia made the cover of Glamour magazine, UK. She was starred in a Bobbi Brown campaign alongside Olivia Palermo. She presented a series of Get The Look videos for the YouTube coverage of The BRIT Awards. She created a secondary vlog channel called Britpoplife Vlogs which has more than 250,000 subscribers.

She has worked with brands such as L’Oreal and Diet Coke. She also collaborated with Mac on a special edition Patricia Bright lipstick. Patricia also owns and runs Y-Hair, which sells hair extensions.

Patricia makes extra income through sponsored posts on her Instagram account.  She has been sponsored by companies like Huawei, Pandora, Cluse, Topshop, Starbucks, Lancome and many others. She pays herself a salary of £65,000 a year and invests most of her residual income in real estate together with her husband.

She admitted to doing a boob job in 2015 after much criticisms from her fans.

Patricia’s Relationship and Family Life

Speaking about her love life, Patricia is happily married to Michael, a physiotherapist and they have two kids together.

Patricia met Michael through a common friend when she was in Manchester. Michael saved Patricia once from an accident and that’s how love bloomed between them. They exchanged their wedding vows in March 2012 at Orangery in Kensington. Four years later, they welcomed their first daughter, Grace on the 15th of April 2016. Their second daughter, Oninye was birthed 25th December, 2019.
