Rahama Ibrahim Sadau Early Life

Rahama Ibrahim Sadau is a Kannywood actress. She was born on the 7th of December, 1992, in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Rahma attended Kaduna Polytechnic where she studied Business Administration. Based on her revelation, she said from the beginning she has always wanted to act and when the opportunity presented itself, she didn’t hesitate to go for it. Her mother on the other hand was not happy with her decision to join the movie industry.

Rahma recalling about her mum, “She believes actors travel to various locations even outside their states. She was skeptical, but after some time she agreed.” Rahma is a big fan of Hindi dance, speaks their language and is also a big of Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra which made her friends to sometimes address her as Priyanka.

She joined the Hausa Movie Industry (Kannywood) in 2013 in the movie Gani ga Wane where she acted alongside another popular actor Ali Nuhu. She is often referred as the Queen of Kannywood. She has been featured on about 20 movies in Kannywood. She has also acted in 3 English movies (Nollywood) including the popular soap opera, Super Story.

Rahma has been involved many charitable works as well and most recently she visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Wasa, Buja, Nigeria. This was organized by her charitable initiative, Ray of Hope. In 2015 she participated in the Cancer Day Walk organized by Medicaid.

As a young actress she has had some awards to her name; Best Actress (Kannywood) at the City People Awards in 2014 and 2015. She was also awarded the Best African Actress at the 19th African Film Awards by African Voice.

She is not married and also single. According to her she is scared of combining her career with love due to complications that might set in. Her role models are Tiwa Savage and Genevieve Nnaji.

On the 2nd of October, 2016 Rahama Saudu was banned from the Hausa Film Industry, Kannywood, by the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) due to offensive hug and cuddling in an Hausa music video with a Jos pop star Classiq. MOPPAN on the other hand has come out to say that her display in the video is against the code of ethics that applies to all Hausa Movie Practitioners.

She also was suspended in May 2015 by the same MOPPAN over a disagreement she has with a popular actor and producer, Adam Zango. She accused him of demanding sex from her in a role for his movie ‘Duniya Makaranta’.

Despite the controversy she still remains a leading actress for the lovers of Hausa movies.
