Bournemouth Vs Chelsea EPL 30 January Review

Chelsea were left awestruck as Bournemouth thrashed and annihilated them 4-0. They never four-saw it happening – not even in their wildest dreams. Definitely not after losing to the same club by 3-0 last time out.

With former Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain in the starting line-up, you get the feeling that the London Blues will come out with a well-deserved win. However, it was a devastating loss as they endured their greatest defeat in twenty-three years with the last of those coming in a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in 1996.

There were as much interesting highlights off-the-pitch as there were on-the-pitch. In enthralling fashion, Maurizio Sarri and his players spent up to 45 minutes behind closed doors after 90 minutes of football with the Italian gaffer sending home all other backroom staff. Could there be some problem in the dressing room that we know nothing of?

Putting things in perspective, it was Chelsea who had the first real chance but Mateo Kovacic’s header was parried onto the bar by Cherries goalkeeper, Arthur Boruc.

Boruc made a couple of other stunning saves, one would be tempted to compare him to Manchester United’s goalkeeper. However, some fans would be quick to point out that Chelsea posed no real attacking threat

On the flip side, it was Brooks and Junior Stanislas who troubled Kepa Arrizabalaga and it paid off soon enough – in the 47th minute – with the former being the provider. Brook sent in an inch-perfect reverse pass to release King who shot high past Kepa.

Things went further south for the Blues as Brooks went for the goal this time with King returning an earlier favour, the striker sent a pass over the top left for Brooks to fire home. Those two must have developed some sort of chemistry.

The Cherrries weren’t done yet as Stanislas set up King for his second for the night before Charlie Daniels made it four.

Remember this day
