Brazil COVID-19 Death Toll Increases to 15,000

Information reaching us indicates that Brazil’s coronavirus death toll has hit 15,000.

According to official figures, with 15,633 deaths and 233,142 confirmed cases, Brazil is at the epicenter of infections in Latin America.

Experts have also said under-testing means the real figures could be 15 times higher or more and warning the worst is yet to come.

The Latin American country already has over 234,000 confirmed cases with 89,672 recoveries.

Breakdown of the cases showed that the State of São Paulo is the epicenter in the country with a total of 58,426 confirmed cases after additional 4,097 cases today.

São Paulo has also recorded 4,501 deaths after an additional 186.

It is followed by the State of Ceará with 22,847 cases after new 1,477 cases. It has also recorded 1,476 with 63 occurring in the last 24 hours.

The state of Rio de Janeiro is third with 19,995 cases after an additional 520 cases in the last 24 hours.

The capital has also recorded 2,438 deaths with 191 happening in the last 24 hours.

The state of Amazonas has 18,392 and has recorded
1,331 death.

The state of Pernambuco has 16,235 with 1,384 deaths.
