Reigning Premier League champions, Leicester City, have completed the £15 million signing of Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi.

Leicester City has confirmed they have signed Genk midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi on a five-and-a-half year deal with the Belgian outfit.

The 20-year-old Nigerian will become the second Nigerian to join the Premier League suprise winners from last year, after Ahmed Musa signed for the Foxes in the summer. Ndidi has put pen to paper for a five-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League champions.

The English champions coughed out a fee in the region of £15 million for the Super eagles midfielder.

Reports emanating from England confirm that Ndidi underwent a successful medical at the King Power Stadium, (Leicester’s home ground) today.  Other formalities regarding the transfer of Ndidi is expected to be completed later this week, as Ndidi seeks a work permit in England.

Ndidi has been in dazzling form since signing for Belgian Pro League side Genk, on his 18th birthday. Ndidi had helped Genk finish top of Group F in the Europa League this term.

Ndidi who is a strong and impressive defensive midfielder will be a perfect replacement for
N’Golo Kante who was snapped up by Chelsea in the summer. Leicester on their part are desperate for a midfielder in the mode of Kante as they try to mount a resurgence in the new year, following their poor form.

Ndidi’s arrival will privide the much needed cover for Danny Drinkwater, who looks exhausted. Leicester manager, Claudio Ranieri has been given the green light to reinforce the sinking Foxes as City continue to endure a horrible defense to thier Premier League crown.
