Benue Govt. Impounds 105 Cows Over Open Grazing

In accordance with the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, the Benue State Livestock Guards has impounded 105 cows and four sheep caught grazing openly near Akawe Torkula College of Advanced and Professional Studies, Makurdi.

He explained that the impounded cows will be quarantined for seven days. He added that the animals would be auctioned, if the owners failed to pay the fines stipulated by the law.

NNPC Nets $626.6m from Crude Export, Makes N9.85b Profit

The NNPC has announced a trading surplus of ₦9.85billion for September, a vast improvement compared with the deficit of ₦3.90 billion recorded in August.

NNPC Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, said the production has been on the increase as a result of success recorded in repairs of the vandalized pipeline in the Niger Delta and the resumption of crude oil lifting activities at Forcados Terminal.

Don’t Blame the Nigerian System for Your Failure- Atiku

Atiku says his attention has been drawn to a statement by President Buhari on the occasion of a Christmas homage paid on him by members of the FCT Community in which he blamed his inability to fight corruption on the Nigerian system.

He responded saying he commends President Buhari for admitting that he has failed in fighting corruption.

According to him, President Buhari has just corroborated Transparency International, whose latest Corruption Perception Index shows that Nigeria is more corrupt today than it was under the previous administration, having moved 12 places backwards in the CPI, from 136 in 2014 to 148 this year.

Gov. Fayemi Appoints Coordinating Directors for 16 Ekiti LGAs

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has on Tuesday announced the appointment of top civil servants as the Coordinating Directors for the 16 LGAs in the state.

This was coming barely a week after the State House of Assembly placed all the elected council chairmen in the state on indefinite suspension.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, had said that the elected council chairmen were suspended indefinitely over allegations bordering on maladministration and corrupt practices.

Buhari is Ploting Military Rule in Zamfara- Fayose

Ex-governor of Ekiti State, Fayose said there is a plot to impose emergency rule on Zamfara state in response to the decision of INEC not to allow the APC field candidates for the 2019 elections in Zamfara.

He further said, “With the emergency rule, there will only be presidential and national assembly elections in the state in February next year while governorship and state house of assembly elections will be postponed till May.

How Zamfara Killings Will Affect Nigeria – FG

The Federal Government says the persistent attacks on residents of Zamfara by bandits will affect food security in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Alhaji Abdulrahman Dambazau: “Since those affected by the killings are largely the agrarian rural dwellers, the activities of the bandits will have a serious impact on agriculture and food security.

He said this on Wednesday in Gusau during an on-the-spot assessment of the activities of bandits in the state.

Two Arrested for Killing Policeman in Niger

The Police Command in Niger State on Tuesday said it arrested two suspects for allegedly killing a Superintendent of Police during robbery operation at Storm Star Hotel Madalla in Suleja Local Government Area of the state.

The assailants made away with six Plasma televisions, one Infinix Hot 4 phone, a wrist watch and 1,600 dollars as well as N31, 000 in cash.

The suspects confessed to the crime while the case is still under investigation.

Boko Haram Burns Down Village Near Chibok on Christmas Day

Members of the dreaded Boko Haram Sect have reportedly burnt down a village near Chibok in Borno State.

Reports has it that this attack, occurred in the remote village of Mbolakel, some six kilometres away from Chibok town, at about 11:45pm on Christmas Day. The insurgents injured at least three persons and razed the whole village.

Eyewitness reports reveal that the deafening sound of gunshots roused them from sleep and the smoke could still be seen from distance hours after.

Police Arrest Badeh’s Alleged Killers

The Nigeria Police force is set to parade some suspects involved in the murder of the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.

The suspects will be paraded at the headquarters of the NPF in Abuja on Thursday.

“We have made a breakthrough in the case and we’ve arrested suspects who will be paraded on Thursday,” a source said.

The former CDS was killed in the evening of December 18, 2018 while returning from his farm.

190 Policemen Abscond from Counter-insurgency Training

The Force Headquarters has ordered the arrest and prosecution of 190 riot policemen who absconded from the ongoing training at the Special Forces School in Buni-Yadi, Yobe State.

The fleeing policemen were part of the 2, 000 Police Mobile Officers mobilized for training for combat against Boko Haram insurgents in the North – East .
