Enugu Gov Advises Traditional Rulers, Community Leaders On World Bank Projects

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has made a fresh call on traditional rulers and community leaders in the State to make judicious use of funds provided to them by the World Bank and the state government for development of infrastructural facilities in their areas.

Ugwuanyi made the call yesterday through his State Commissioner for Rural Development, Chief Gabriel Onuzuliki, during a formal presentation of the first tranche of money to the people of Enugu-Owelli in Awgu Local Government Area of the state for the building of Health Centre in the community.


Again, Edo PDP Criticises List Of INEC Ad Hoc Staff

The last may not have been heard over the controversy surrounding the list of ad hoc staff drawn up by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for February 16 election in Edo state.

The Edo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had sharply criticized the list for containing the names of sympathizers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) instead of university lecturers.


Appeal Court Affirms Ukachukwu As APGA Senatorial Candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial candidate for Anambra South zone in the coming Feb 16, 2019, general election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma) has yesterday won his appeal filed against the earlier verdict of an Abuja High court which had invalidated the party’s senatorial primary conducted last October.

The Appeal Court yesterday affirmed him the party’s senatorial candidate for Anambra South.

Number Of Nigerians Without Access To Internet Drops To 32 Million ― NCC Boss

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Danbatta has said the Commission recently reduced from 40 million to 32 million.

Professor Danbatta disclosed this at the Post-Nigeria National Broadband Plan 2013-2018 organised by the Association of Telecoms Companies of Nigeria (ATCON).


Expect Completion Of OB3 Gas Pipeline 2nd Quarter ― Baru

Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, has said that the OB3 gas pipeline project of the Federal Government will be completed in the second quarter of 2019.

He disclosed this on Thursday during the official inauguration of the Egbaoma Gas Plant, a subsidiary of the PNG Gas Ltd in Ebedei community, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

2019: Gombe Women Call For Peaceful Elections

Women in Gombe State, cutting across tribal and religious affiliations, Thursday marched from Emir Palace through major streets in the state capital, canvassing peace and peaceful conduct in the forthcoming general elections.

At the end of the Rally at the Government House, the women pleaded with Nigerians to embrace peace during and after the 2019 general elections because according to them the election is not a do-or-die affair and should be devoid of violence.


Jonathan To Politicians: Don’t Allow Your Ambition Consume Nigeria

As the nation heads into general elections, former President Goodluck Jonathan has admonished political office seekers to be wary of their actions in order not to set the country ablaze.

Speaking at the opening session of a one-day peace conference with the theme, “Peaceful Elections and National Development,” organized by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF) in Abuja on Thursday, he observed that no meaning progress can be achieved without peace.

While reminding the politicians that the entire world is watching, he said everything must be done to ensure that the elections are violence-free.


Saki Township Road, Model School Will Be Completed Before May 29 ― Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has assured of the completion of the Saki Township road stretching from Oke-Ogun polytechnic to Ilesa-Baruba Road before May 29.

This is as he assured of the completion of Baptist High School, Saki, which is one of the three model schools project of the current administration, before leaving office.
