Mikel Escapes Plane Crash

Nigerian Footballer, John Mikel Obi, who currently plays for the Middlesbrough Football Club, is happy that his club called off a flight that would have taken them for the next match.

Having discovered that the plane had engine failure, rather than put Mikel and the other players at risk, the club called off their flight home.

Mikel and other members were forced to board the team bus and return to Middlesbrough by road, meaning the team did not return until 7am, with the players having to sleep on the way home.

National Examination Council (NECO) has said that no fewer than 12,084 were caught in exam malpractice in its 2018 November/December examination.

It added that the candidates cheated more in Mathematics, English language, Biology and Economics, which are core subjects that some candidates often find difficult to pass.

I Won’t Pay Politicians Before Workers, Makinde Pledges

The PDP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has said that the welfare of the state civil servants will take precedence over that of the political office holders when he becomes the state governor.

In a release from his campaign organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said that it is morally and constitutionally wrong for a government to pamper politicians to the detriment of the toiling workers.


Makinde Congratulates Ladoja On Court Judgement

The governorship candidate of the PDP in Oyo State has congratulated former governor Rashidi Ladoja on his acquittal by a Federal High Court on charges of money laundering.

In a release signed by his campaign spokesman Prince Dotun Oyelade, Engr Makinde said that he was relieved to learn that the litigation which lasted over ten years was finally laid to rest in favour of senator Adewolu Ladoja.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the judgment of the Supreme Court, upholding the law in nullifying the legally defective primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, as a victory for democracy and the rule of law.

The party has, therefore, commended the apex court for its courage in delivering the landmark judgment, which it observed, has saved the nation from a serious constitutional crisis that could have marred the 2019 general elections and detract from our overall electoral system.


2019 UTME: Ban On Cybercafes For Registration Yielding Results ― JAMB

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB) on Friday, in Lagos, expressed satisfaction over the use of only accredited Computer-Based Test (a.k.a CBT centres) for the ongoing registration of candidates for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations(UTME) across the country.

It says the 100% computerized-registration process and being carried out solely at the various designated centres (where the exam will also take place) nationwide is yielding great results.
