Reno Omokri Reminds Buhari of A ‘Better Nigeria’

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan has reminded President Muhammadu Buhari the state of the nation before he took over power in 2015.

According to Omokri in a tweet, Fuel was ₦87, Dollar was ₦199, Bag of 50KG rice was ₦9k and  Nigeria was world’s 4th fastest growing economy and there were no inconclusive elections during the time of Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

President Mohammadu Buhari has been reminded by the Vice Presidential candidate of the African People’s Alliance (APA), Prince Adesoji Adeleke Masilo, not to forget his campaign promise to run an all-inclusive government.

Masilo advised President Buhari no to see his victory as a “winner takes all,” adding that he must live up to his promise to give appointments to members of other political parties, particularly those that supported him and the All Progressives Congress to achieve victory.

Landmine Kills 13 Soldiers, Injures Several Others In Borno

13 Nigerian soldiers died while others got injured in Borno State early last week when they stepped on a landmine planted by Boko Haram members.

The soldiers were moving along Gwoza-Yamteke Road in Gwoza Local Government Area when a military operational truck stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) buried underneath the road by unknown Boko Haram members and destroyed the truck beyond repairs.

Offa Poly student commits suicide over handout sales

Late Ridwan Ajiboye, a student of Offa polytechnic, has committed suicide following an alleged embarrassment from one of his lecturers over proceeds from handouts the lecturer instructed him to sell on his behalf.

Ajiboye was found in his room by his neighbours writhing in pain and foaming in the mouth before being rushed to the hospital but eventually died after drinking a poisonous substance.

Police In Imo State Rescues Travelers From Kidnappers Along Owerri-Port Harcourt Expressway

The Nigeria Police Force, Imo State Command has rescued 15 travellers who were kidnapped along the Owerri-Port Harcourt Expressway.

The police spokesperson in Imo state, Orlando Ikeokwu, revealed that the kidnappers intercepted the victims who were travelling on a bus from Bayelsa State and took them to a forest thereafter.

Buhari Charges Lecturers to Focus More on Research

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on lecturers to put more intensity in research.

The president further urged higher institutions to make concerted efforts towards achieving research breakthroughs to attract global funding as well as generating employment, wealth and prosperity for the people.

While reiterating his administration’s commitment to placing emphasis on equity, infrastructure, teacher training programmes, funding and plans to bring about the needed change in the education sector, Buhari revealed that the Federal Government has released funds to rejuvenate and transform the tertiary education in Nigeria.

Mother In Lagos State Allegedly Kills Her Child And Commits Suicide

A mother of one who is a school teacher has allegedly killed her three-year-old son before committing suicide in the Ayobo area of Lagos state on March 30th.

Police officers from the Ayobo Police Station in Lagos state, who were invited after the incident was revealed, made it also clear that they are not ruling out possible double homicide as the deceased and her son were foaming from the mouth when they were found dead inside their home.
