Presidency Expresses Sadness Over Kolade Johnson’s Murder By Police

The Presidency has expressed sadness over the killing of Kolade Johnson,  by policemen from the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Lagos State Command.

The Presidency via a tweet noted that the Nigeria Police Force has assured that the Team suspected of involvement in the shooting have been apprehended and are undergoing a disciplinary procedure.

Osinbajo gives update on N-Power Feeding Programme

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has sparked outrage online with the N-Power feeding programme stating that the federal government has been able to provide a balanced meal for every one of the 9,300,892 pupils in 49,837 public primary schools in 26 states across Nigeria.

According to him, the federal government feeds school children in public school pupils with 594 cattle, 138,000 chickens, 6.8million eggs and 83 metric tons of fish on a weekly basis.

He further stated that the programme employs 95,422 cooks and over 100,000 smallholder farmers linked to the programme who he says supply local ingredients to the programme.

Killings: Angry Mob Kill Suspected Bandit In Zamfara State

A mob has killed a suspected bandit apprehended by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Zamfara state.

Angered by the incessant and consistent killings and government’s inaction, the mob took laws into their hands in Shinkafi local government area, where about 40 persons were killed by armed bandits over the past weekend.

Security Operatives Nab Suspected Kidnappers in Delta State

Suspected kidnapper which alongside their female counterpart have been nabbed by Police operatives in Agbor, Ika South local government area of Delta state.

The arrested suspects who are also known to be drug dealers as well were reportedly apprehended on Monday 2019, by security operatives during a raid led by one Hon. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, known to be a Member Representing Ika South Constituency in the State House of Assembly.

Sheu Sani Reacts to Fresh Killings in Zamfara

The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent killing in Zamfara state.

The senator said the frequent killings across Nigeria are as a result of a failure on the part of the government.

Sani, who took to his Twitter handle argued that there is no country within the continent where people are currently being killed at such an alarming rate.

#EndSARS: Buhari Has Failed to Reform Police – Amnesty International

Amnesty International (AI) has blamed the Federal Government for not reforming the Nigeria Police Force, especially  the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

A SARS team allegedly killed Kolade Johnson, who was shot dead while leaving a football viewing centre on Olu Aboderin Street, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, on Sunday.

While stating that the call to scrap SARS and reform the police had not been taking seriously, AI said efforts put in place by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government had failed even as it blamed the judiciary for failing to punish police torture.

Ahmed Musa Emerges Best Nigerian  Player of the Year

Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa has been named the best player of the year by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

The 26-year-old striker beat the likes of Alex Iwobi and Odion Ighalo to grab the honour.

Musa, who had an outstanding game against Iceland at the Russia 2018 World Cup, also made some contributions to the team’s qualification for the African Nations Cup which will hold this year.
