Osinbajo Tasks Journalist on Investigative Journalism

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has tasked Nigerian Journalists to continue to interrogate and expose corruption in the country which makes it important for investigative journalism training in the country.

He added that such journalists who would refuse the temptation of personal and political interests to rightfully investigate and expose corruption in every sector of society will make Nigeria and the world at large a better place for all.

Ndume Insists He is Still in Senate President’s Race

Senator Ali Ndume has refused to withdraw his ambition of becoming the Senate President despite reportedly being told by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo to do so for Ahmed Lawan.

Ndume told state house correspondents that he is not stepping down and he is still consulting. He added that  he is not opposition bride because he has been regarded as an enemy

Suspected Bandits Burn Down Police Station, Kills four In Kaduna

Four people were killed when suspected bandits burnt down a police station in Kakangi village, Gwari Local Government area of Kaduna state this past weekend.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspected gunmen got to the community on motorbikes at about 5:00 am, fully armed with AK-47, and began shooting sporadically killing two persons and later two police personnel after burning down their station, with others sustaining various injuries.

Politicians are Desperate and it Undermines Democracy – INEC

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has blamed the conduct of supplementary elections on lack of internal democracy among political parties and desperate attitudes of aspirants and their supporters.

Yakubu, who urged candidates and parties to challenge the outcome of the election in a lawful manner if they were not satisfied with the results applauded Nigerians for their conduct during the polls and and described as an effort towards deepening democracy.

‘I Donated My Salaries for 8 Years as Governor’ – Aregbesola

Former Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola has recealed that he voluntarily gave up his official salaries totalling N114, 743,197.4 million for the eight years he served as governor.

Aregbesola who stressed that being productive is vital to the existence and survival of individuals and a nation advised Nigerians, especially youths to avoid living above their means by priotising their needs above wants.
