Insecurity:  PDP Tells Buhari to Stop Wandering, Return Home And Face Challenges

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to end his private visit abroad and immediately return home to face what it described as ‘deteriorated’ security situation in the country.

The opposition party in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by Kola Ologbondiyan, its National Publicity Secretary described the situation as completely unacceptable for President Buhari to practically abandon his responsibilities, as the Commander-In-Chief, at least for now, to pursue unexplained private matters in foreign lands, while bandits, marauders and insurgents seize our nation; maim, kidnap and kill our citizens with reckless abandon.

Insecurity: Reps Summon Buhari Again

The house of representatives has again summoned President Muhammadu Buhari to appear before it to explain step taken to address rising security challenges in the country.

The president was also summoned last month by the lawmakers is yet to respond to any of the summon concerning issues on insecurity.

Buhari Sets to Receive UNGA’s President on Monday

President Muhammadu Buhari will be receiving the President of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), Maria Espinosa on Monday.

This was revealed by Espinosa’s Spokesperson, Monica Gravley, at a media briefing at the UN headquarters in New York on Friday who revealed that Espinosa is paying a one-day official visit to Nigeria as part of her eight-day official trip to Central and West Africa which begins on Friday.

Gowon  Slumps During Final Military Salute to Late Army General

A former Nigerian Military Head of State,  Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd) slumped midway during the oration at the graveside of late Maj Gen David Akpodiete Ejoor in Ovwor-Olomu Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The former Head of State, who was promptly rushed by some top echelons of the military into the special tenth for emergency resuscitation to ensure he recovers which he later did.

Alleged Drug Trafficking: Zainab’s Father Speaks on Daughter’s Release By Saudi Arabia Gov’t

Habibu Kila Aliyu, the father of Zainab Aliyu, who was recently released by the Saudi Authorities through intervention from President Muhammadu sincerely thanked the Federal Government for its effort in rescuing their daughter from the cold hand of death.

Ganduje Sacks Permanent Secretaries

Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje has sacked all Permanent Secretaries in the state.

This was announced in a statement from the Head of Civil Service yesterday, May 3rd  in line with the Kano Government’s decision to “Vigorously pursue/implement the reform initiative embarked upon since its inception”.
