The Afenifere has berated the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, for likening the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to their groups.

Defending the meeting between the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and the leadership of the Miyetti Allah, Shehu said that the government needed the cooperation of Miyetti Allah to help in tackling weapons proliferation as the security situation in the country worsened.

Pres. Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the Board of the North East Development Commission.

The Board according to the rules establishing it will be in charge of receiving and managing funds allocated by the Federal Government and international donors for the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration and reconstruction in the North Eastern Part of the country.

INEC Applauds Media for Support During 2019 General Elections

The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has applauded the news media for the support it enjoyed during the 2019 elections.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated that it was proud of the warm and mutually beneficial relationship with the media stressing that the media is a critical stakeholder and partner in the electoral processes in the country.

Presidential Election: Tribunal Fixes May 15th,16th For Pre-hearing Sitting

The 2019 Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has fixed May 15th and 16th for the pre-hearing session of the petitions filed by the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

While at the inaugural hearing which held at the Court of Appeal, all lawyers who were representing parties in the matter were called upon to identify the petitions and applications filed. Afterwards, the tribunal fixed 15th and 16th May for the pre-hearing sitting.
