BREAKING: Supreme Court Reaffirms Buhari’s Reelection
The Supreme Court has reaffirmed the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The apex court ruled that President Buhari was validly elected in the 23 February, presidential election.
A seven-man panel of the court, headed by Justice Tanko Ibrahim Mohammed, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of the president at the presidential election.
The panel in a unanimous judgement said there is no merit in the appeal.
After losing the appeal at Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, Atiku, a former vice president proceeded to the apex court to challenge the September 11 judgment of the Justice Mohammed Garba-led which affirmed President Buhari’s victory at the polls.
More to come.
Atiku is a serial loser any day . Unfortunately he has succeeded in enriching his legal team who keep on deceiving him to proceed on appeal because of their pockets. By now Atiku should have learnt his bitter political lessons .
Going to the Supreme Court was basically an effort in futility.
Atiku should not have expected to win. In time past, he had been instrumental to widespread election malpractice.
Yes I agree with the writer. It was an exercise in futility. Anyway his legal who suppose to advice him did not do so because of their selfishness. A big lesson indeed . Congratulations PMB
