Buhari Celebrates Communication Scholar, Prof Olatunji Dare

President Muhammadu Buhari is felicitating with Prof. Olatunji Dare, a communication scholar, columnist and former Chair of The Guardian Editorial Board, as he celebrates his 75th birthday.

The don who clocked 75 today July 17, 2019, has been wished good health, strength and wisdom to keep thriving by the president.

“President Buhari joins family members, friends and professional colleagues of the cerebral writer and author, whose commitment to the vibrancy of journalism in Nigeria, and beyond, and his dedication to the development of the country remain exemplary and highly commendable.

“The President extols Prof. Dare for his witty, satirical and insightful write-ups on topical issues in the country, which holds those in authority to account and clearly point the way for more inclusive and responsive governance,” part of the statement released in Abuja by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.

Buhari noted that the scholar is an academic and journalist, with a strong pedigree in promoting development.

“President Buhari believes the columnist’s patriotism and calls for urgency in handling challenges in Nigeria will always be remembered and appreciated by posterity.”

The President prays for a longer life for the erudite scholar.
