Buhari Reshuffles Staff Ahead of Second Term

Ahead of president’s Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office, there will be redeployment of 71 staff of the State House Aso Villa, Abuja.

This was announced in a circular from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHSOF),  which indicates that a total of 71 staff on SGL 07-14, both security and civil servants were affected.

The circular signed by the Director, Employee Mobility, M. S. Naibi, in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, said all handing and taking over processes should be completed on or before Friday, May 3.

According to the information, the affected staff are to comply, failure of which they might face sanctions.

“Any disregard of this deployment shall be treated in accordance with the provision of PSR 030301(b),” the circular stated.

It was gathered that the affected staff have been redeployed to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHSOF) and some designated ministries.

Huge task in front of Buhari

Having been declared the winner of the February 23 presidential poll by the chief electoral officer, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, President Buhari will begin another four-year term in office on May 29.

He had already promised to continue on his electoral promise which is revamping Nigeria’s economy, tackling insecurity and fighting corruption.

One of the challenges facing hsi administration has been insecurity as the rate of killings and kidnapping continue to be on the rise.

The Nigerian military recently suffered some setbacks in the battle against Boko Haram terrorist group after there had been several claims from different quarters that the Islamic sect has been tamed.

President Buhari has a huge task in his hand to deliver his electoral promises.
