Speaking via his Twitter handle, Bashir said such arrangement had been done by the host country, knowing fully well that the government doesn’t usually allow world leaders are not allowed to perform Umrah because of the rowdy situation.

“Some people should know this, an invitation to perform Umrah doesn’t mean an invitation to meet Emir or any gov’t official in KSA. Saudi Government usually doesn’t allow World leaders to perform Umrah in Ramadan because of how populous Makkah and Madinah are during the period.

“An invitation from Saudi Government to any World leader to perform Umrah in Ramadan means that the country has made a special arrangement for that particular leader and his/her delegation which will not going to inconvenience other millions of visitors during the Holy Month.”
